How to Cut Paper
Learn to cut paper in fashionable designs that will keep you at the top of the list!
Steps
Get a decent pair of scissors. Start out with a new pair, and use them only for paper. Using a sharp pair of scissors for something such as cutting cardboard will make them dull quickly.
Get paper. It can be white computer-paper or funky recycled paper, just choose what you think is right for you!
Decide what you want to cut out. It may be just a simple triangle framing a picture or it can be the next Mona Lisa...out of paper!
Make a quick sketch of what you want to cut, or just start cutting!
Make small decisive cuts or long arcing smooth cuts, it may depend on your design. Whatever you decide, keep the cuts clean.
Finish off the edges with some for clipping if it feels a little "rough" to you.
Tips
Make sure to get scissors of your hand style. Right-handed or left-handed.
Finding a brightly colored pair is important too, because the more you like them, the more you will practice with them and use them.
If your scissors go dull, try cutting a piece of sandpaper with them. That should leave them sharp.
Remember, the round hole, is for your thumb.
Warnings
Scissors are very dangerous and should be used with caution. Read safety instructions located on back of scissors box. Keep bandages and your local hospital number close at hand.
If possible, use scissors supervised. It is quite possible to cut your finger open severely, thus leaving you unable to dial a telephone. An observer from a safe distance will then be able to contact your local hospital in case of such emergency. Maintaining a safe distance will safeguard helpers from flying paper shrapnel and/or flying scissor blades.
Although small paper cuts hurt, be careful around the edges of your sheet of paper.
