LET IT GO !

Let's go for 2006 ...by T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you, and hear me when I tell you this!

When people can walk away from you: let them walk!

I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you.

I mean hang up the phone. When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

People leave you because they are not joined to you. If they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay. Let them go.It doesn't mean that they are a bad person, it just means that their part in the story is over.

And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead. You've got to know when it's dead.

You've got to know when it's over.

Let me tell you something. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye.It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me.

If it takes too much sweat, I don't need it. Stop begging people to stay. Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to ...LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains ... LET IT GO!!!

If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth... LET IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you ... LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge .. LET IT GO!!!

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction ... LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents .. LET IT GO!!!

If you have a bad attitude... LET IT GO!!!

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better... LET IT GO!!!

If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him... LET IT GO!!!

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship.... LET IT GO!!!

If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help themselves.. LET IT GO!!!

If you're feeling depressed and stressed .... LET IT GO!!!

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying "take your hands off of it," then you need to... LET IT GO!!!

Let the past be the past. Forget the former things.

GOD is doing a new thing for 2006 !!!

LET IT GO!!!

Get Right or Get Left .. think about it, and then LET IT GO!!!"

I have a dream, a song to sing

To help me cope with anything

If you see the wonder of a fairy tale

You can take the future even if you fail

I believe in angels

Something good in everything I see

I believe in angels

When I know the time is right for me

I’ll cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy

To help me through reality

And my destination makes it worth the while

Pushing through the darkness still another mile

I believe in angels

Something good in everything I see

I believe in angels

When I know the time is right for me

I’ll cross the stream - I have a dream

I’ll cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a song to sing

To help me cope with anything

If you see the wonder of a fairy tale

Who Packs Your Parachute ?

Charles Plumb was a US Navy jet pilot in Vietnam. After 75 combat missions, his plane was destroyed by a surface-to-air missile. Plumb ejected and parachuted into enemy hands. He was captured and spent 6 years in a communist Vietnamese prison. He survived the ordeal and now lectures on lessons learned from that experience!

One day, when Plumb and his wife were sitting in a restaurant, a man at another table came up and said, "You're Plumb! You flew jet fighters in Vietnam from the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk. You were shot down!"

"How in the world did you know that?" asked Plumb.

"I packed your parachute," the man replied. Plumb gasped in surprise and gratitude. The man pumped his hand and said, "I guess it worked!" Plumb assured him, "It sure did. If your chute hadn't worked, I wouldn't be here today."

Plumb couldn\'t sleep that night, thinking about that man. Plumb says, "I kept wondering what he had looked like in a Navy uniform: a white hat; a bib in the back; and bell-bottom trousers.

I wonder how many times I might have seen him and not even said \'Good morning, how are you?\' or anything because, you see, I was a fighter pilot and he was just a sailor."

Plumb thought of the many hours the sailor had spent at a long wooden table in the bowels of the ship, carefully weaving the shrouds and folding the silks of each chute, holding in his hands each time the fate of someone he didn\'t know.\n \

Now, Plumb asks his audience, "Who\'s packing your parachute?" Everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it through the day. He also points out that he needed many kinds of parachutes when his plane was shot down over enemy territory -- he needed his physical parachute, his mental parachute, his emotional parachute, and his spiritual parachute. He called on all these supports before reaching safety.

Sometimes in the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really important. We may fail to say hello, please, or thank you, congratulate someone on something wonderful that has happened to them, give a compliment, or just do something nice for no reason. As you go through this week, this month, this year, recognize people who pack your parachutes."

And I hope you will send it on to those who have helped pack yours!\n \nSometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding jokes to us without writing a word. Maybe this could explain it: When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch, guess what you do -- you forward jokes. And to let you know that you are still remembered, you are still important, you are still loved, you are still cared for, guess what you get?

Sometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding jokes to us without writing a word. Maybe this could explain it: When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch, guess what you do -- you forward jokes. And to let you know that you are still remembered, you are still important, you are still loved, you are still cared for, guess what you get? A forwarded joke.

So my friend, next time when you get a joke, don't think that you've been sent just another forwarded joke, but that you've been thought of today and your friend on the other end of your computer wanted to send you a smile, just helping you pack your parachute........
Have a great day and stay in touch.....

In my home town
For anyone who sticks around

You're either lost or you're found
There's not much in between

In my home town
Everything's still black and white

It's a long, long way from wrong to right
From Sunday morning to Saturday night
Everybody just wants to get high

Sit and watch a perfect world go by
We're all looking for love and meaning in our lives

We follow the roads that lead us
To drugs or Jesus

My whole life
I've tried to run, I've tried to hide
From the stained glass windows in my mind

Refusing to let God's light shine
Down on me

Everybody just wants to get high
Sit and watch a perfect world go by

We're all looking for love and meaning in our lives
There's not much space between us
Drugs or Jesus

Everybody wants acceptance
We all just want some proof

Everyone's just looking for the truth
Everybody just wants to get high
Sit and watch a perfect world go by

We're all looking for love and meaning in our lives
We follow the roads that lead us
To drugs or Jesus

Oh I need you Jesus, says I
and Jesus is quick to reply

But I say unto you,
That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek,
turn to him the other also.

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat,
let him have thy cloak also.

And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile,
go with him twain.

Give to him that asketh thee,
and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Matthew 5:39-42 KJV

the prob wid turning to Jesus is
Jesus H. Christ!

He expects too much

and dis aint all

He further says:

"Truly I say to you,

there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children,

for the sake of the kingdom of God,

who will not receive many times as much at this time

and in the age to come, eternal life."

Luke 18:29,30 NASB

So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you.

Have nothing to do with sexual sin, impurity, lust, and shameful desires.

Don't be greedy for the good things of this life, for that is idolatry.

God's terrible anger will come upon those who do such things.

You used to do them when your life was still part of this world.

But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.

Colossians 3:5-8 NLT

Long time ago in bethelehem ..

Long time ago in Bethlehem
So the Holy Bible say

Mary's boy child, Jesus Christ
Was born on Christmas day

Hark, now hear the angels sing
A new King born today

And man will live for evermore
Because of Christmas day

Trumpets sound and angels sing
Listen what they say

That Man will live for evermore
Because of Christmas day

While shepherds watched their flock by night
Them see a bright new shining star

Them heard a choir sing
The music seemed to come from afar

Now, Joseph and his wife, Mary
Come to Bethlehem that night

Them find no place to born she child
Not a single room was in sight

Hark, now hear the angels sing
A new King born today

And man will live for evermore
Because of Christmas day

Trumpets sound and angels sing
Listen what they say

That Man will live for evermore
Because of Christmas day

By and by, they find a little nook
In a stable all forlorn

And in a manger cold and dark
Mary's litlle Boy was born

Long time ago in Bethlehem ......

Dear Friends,

This
Xmas,
I would
like to put
up a tree in my
heart, and instead
of hanging presents,
I would like to put the
names of all my friends.
Close friends and not so close
friends. The old friends the new
friends. Those that I see every day
and the ones that I rarely see. The ones
that I always remember and the ones that
I sometimes forget. The ones that are always
there and the ones that seldom are. The friends of
difficult times and the ones of happy times. Friends
who, without meaning to, I have hurt, or, without meaning
to have hurt me. Those that I know well and those I only know
by name. Those that owe me little and those that I owe so much.
My humble friends and my important friends. The names of all those
that have passed through my life no matter how fleetingly. A tree with
very deep roots and very long
and strong branches so that
their names may never be
plucked from my heart. So
that new names from all
over may join the existing ones. A tree with a very
pleasant shade so that our friendship may take a
moment of rest from the battles of life. “May the
happy moments of Xmas brighten every day of
the new year”. These are my sincere wishes.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2006 and God Bless !

Judgement day ....

Reward and punishment

‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him,
‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in,
or needing clothes and clothe you?

When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply,
‘I tell you the truth,
whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine,
you did for me.’

Iranian president calls holocaust a 'myth'

Iranian president calls holocaust a 'myth' in live TV broadcast Robert Tait in Tehran and Luke Harding in BerlinThursday December 15, 2005The Guardian

Iran's ultra-Islamist president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, triggered a fresh wave of international outrage yesterday by dismissing the Holocaust as a myth and calling for Jews to be moved to Canada and Alaska.

In a speech broadcast live on Iranian television and calculated to generate maximum publicity, Mr Ahmadinejad described the Nazi genocide of 6 million Jews in the second world war as a fabrication concocted to justify Israel's existence.

"They have invented a myth that Jews were massacred and place this above God, religions and the prophets," he told an audience in the south-eastern city of Zahidan.

"If someone were to deny the existence of God ... or prophets and religion, they would not bother him. However, if someone were to deny the myth of the Jews' massacre, all the Zionist mouthpieces and the governments subservient to the Zionists scream against the person as much as they can."

Article continues

The outburst was the latest in a string of anti-Israeli statements from Mr Ahmadinejad. Analysts in Tehran yesterday said the wave of rhetoric was calculated to increase Iran's international isolation, strengthening the president's radical camp against more pragmatic regime figures who have been critical of his performance since he took office four months ago.

The remarks drew angry condemnation from Israel, the EU and Germany, which warned that they jeopardised the resumption of talks between the EU and Iran about its nuclear programme. Germany's foreign minister, Franz-Walter Steinmeier, said: "I cannot hide the fact that this weighs on bilateral relations and on the chances for the negotiation process, the so-called nuclear dossier."

One MEP yesterday suggested that the best way to express Europe's frustration with Mr Ahmadinejad would be to throw Iran out of the World Cup. Iran, a football-mad country, is due to take part in next summer's tournament in Germany. Millions of Iranians watched last week's draw in Leipzig.

The best way to isolate Iran internationally would be to exclude it from the tournament, Daniel Cohn-Bendit, the joint leader of the Green group in the European parliament, said yesterday.
Last October, Mr Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be "wiped off the map", earning a rebuke from the UN. Revisiting that theme yesterday, he said: "If you say it is true that you massacred and burned 6 million Jews during the second world war, if you committed this massacre, why should the Palestinians pay the price? ... Give a part of your own land in Europe, the US, Canada or Alaska to them so that the Jews can establish their country."

Pryor used humor 'to lessen people's hatred'

Richard Pryor, one of the best and most influential comedians of his time, is dead at 65. He died at 9:58 a.m. Saturday of heart failure, in a suburban Los Angeles hospital, according to his wife, Jennifer, who told Reuters: "He was my treasure."

He was a national treasure. Born in a brothel, accused of obscenity in his early stand-up days, nearly burned to death in an accident while free-basing cocaine, he went on to star in movies both good and bad, but as a live performer, he was brilliant and fearless and found truths his audiences instinctively identified with.

Although the obituaries will make much of his nearly fatal accident and his long battle with multiple sclerosis, the most significant entry may be this one: In 1998, he won the first Mark Twain Prize for humor from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He said in his acceptance speech he had been able to use humor as Mark Twain did, "to lessen people's hatred."

ON THE SILVER SCREEN
Some of Richard Pryor's film credits:
''The Busy Body,'' 1968 ''Lady Sings the Blues,'' 1972''Blazing Saddles'' (co-writer of screenplay), 1974''Uptown Saturday Night,'' 1974''The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings,'' 1976''Car Wash,'' 1976''Silver Streak,'' 1976''The Wiz,'' 1978''Richard Pryor Live in Concert,'' 1979''The Muppet Movie,'' 1979''Stir Crazy,'' 1980''Bustin' Loose,'' 1981''Some Kind of Hero,'' 1982''The Toy,'' 1982''Superman III,'' 1983''Brewster's Millions,'' 1985''Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life is Calling,'' 1985''Critical Condition,'' 1987''Harlem Nights,'' 1989''See No Evil, Hear No Evil,'' 1989''Another You,'' 1991''Lost Highway,'' 1997
AP

When you look again at his three great performance films, you realize that was exactly what he did: It was when he was live in front of an audience that the full range of his gifts was seen most clearly. Drugs muddled some of the early stages of his career, and his disease finally silenced him, but in the early 1980s, after he was clean and sober and before he fell ill, there was a flowering of genius. In 2004, Comedy Central placed him first on its list of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time.

Mr. Pryor was born Dec. 1, 1940, in Peoria, in a brothel his grandmother owned. He recalled his early years in "Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life is Calling" (1986), an autobiographical film he wrote, directed and starred in. He said it was not entirely factual, but the broad outlines of his life are there, including the day in 1980 when he ran screaming into a Los Angeles street, his body in flames.

25 starring roles
He began as a stand-up comic and made a handful of films before his breakthrough in "Lady Sings the Blues" (1972), as Piano Man, the confidant of Billie Holiday (Diana Ross). Other important roles were in films including "Uptown Saturday Night" (1974), "The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings" (1976), "Stir Crazy" (1980), and "Brewster's Millions" (1985).

Although Whoopi Goldberg was the first black host of the Academy Awards (1994), Mr. Pryor was the Oscar co-host in 1976, after earlier black co-hosts Sammy Davis Jr. and Diana Ross. By then he was a major Hollywood star, teamed by the Oscars with Warren Beatty, Ellen Burstyn and Jane Fonda. Oscar invited him back in 1982.

He had about 25 starring roles, often opposite Gene Wilder, who would play the straight man when they did interviews together. This is from their visit to Chicago to promote their biggest hit, "Silver Streak" (1976):

Wilder: "What are you doing next?"
Mr. Pryor: "It's a movie called 'Which Way Is Up?' This Italian director, Lina Wertmuller ..."
Wilder: "No! Oh, my God! I'll kill myself!"
Mr. Pryor: "What you moaning about, man?"
Wilder: "You're going to work with Lina Wertmuller? She passed right by me and saw you and said 'I must have that young man'?"
Mr. Pryor: "You didn't let me finish. She made this movie called 'The Seduction of Mimi,' and this will be a remake, set among the grape pickers of California."
Wilder: "I would have killed myself out of envy."
Mr. Pryor: "And then I'm in a remake of 'Arsenic and Old Lace.'"
Wilder: "Oh, my God! My favorite play next to 'Hamlet.' All black cast, I suppose, nothing for me."
Mr. Pryor: "And then I'm doing 'Hamlet.'"
In "Silver Streak," they did their own stunts, including one where they hung out of a train at 50 mph, Mr. Pryor holding Wilder by the belt.
"I'm thinking, one slip of my foot, and goodbye, Gene!" Mr. Pryor said.
"What gave me a lot of confidence," Wilder said, "was that Richie promised me that if I went, he went, too. If I fell off the train and was killed, he would throw himself after me."
"Of course," said Mr. Pryor, "they had me wired to the train."

Some of his films after that were not as good, including the dreadful "Harlem Nights" (1989) with Eddie Murphy, and in the late 1980s, there was a visible slowing down, the result of multiple sclerosis. There was no slowing down, however, in the three concert films that will preserve his work at its peak. In "Richard Pryor: Live in Concert" (1979), "Richard Pryor Live on Sunset Strip" (1982) and "Richard Pryor Here and Now" (1983), he earned full comparison with Bill Cosby, the grandmaster of the autobiographical stand-up genre.

Wise social observer
In the 1982 film, he dealt frankly with his cocaine addiction and his accident. The movie was filmed live over two nights. We sense at the beginning that he is shaky, but he gains confidence and builds into "the most talented one-man stage show in existence right now," I wrote in my review, effortlessly bringing to life a series of impressions ranging from Mafioso to water buffalos.

The racial content of his humor wasobservational, not confrontational. In the 1982 concert, he mimes an impression of two whites passing each other on the street in Africa. In "Silver Streak," Mr. Pryor told me, there was concern about a scene where Wilder appears in blackface and fools a white man. Mr. Pryor suggested a simple change that turned a possibly embarrassing scene into one of the biggest laughs in the film:

"Instead of a white dude being fooled by the disguise, a black dude comes in and isn't fooled. Here's Gene snapping his fingers and holding his portable radio to his ear, and the black dude takes one look and says, 'I don't know what you think you're doing, man, but you got to get the beat.'"

In "Live on Sunset Strip," Mr. Pryor does a brilliant extended sequence involving his addiction to cocaine. He depicts himself alone in his room with his cocaine pipe, which speaks to him in reassuring, seductive tones. Only gradually do we realize that the pipe is speaking in the voice of Richard Nixon.

It is unclear whether all of Mr. Pryor's drug use was behind him when he made "Sunset Strip." But in "Richard Pryor Here and Now," (1983) he firmly states he is clean and sober, seems more relaxed than we've ever seen him before, and is growing from a comedian into a wise social observer. He does impressions of characters of many races, the humor based on empathy, and has fun with himself as an African American feeling like a foreigner in Africa. In Zimbabwe, he tells an African how surprised he is to be able to speak English everywhere.

"Everybody speaks English," the African tells him, "but what language do you speak at home?"
There is an extended sequence at the end of that film where he shows a street addict shooting heroin. It begins in comedy, ends in pain, moves from self-deception to honesty, and goes far beyond stand-up into what can only be described as inspired acting. That was the direction he was moving in, and we can only wonder what heights he would have achieved if MS had not taken its cruel toll.

Mr. Pryor had seven marriages to five wives, including two to Jennifer Lee (in 1981 and 2001) and two to Flynn Belaine (in 1986 and 1990). He had seven children: Renee, Richard Pryor Jr., Elizabeth Stordeur, Rain Kindlin (herself an actress), Kelsey Pryor, Steven Pryor and Franklin Mason, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be private, by invitation.

Bush on the Constitution: 'It's just a goddamned piece of paper'
Last month, Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act.GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”"Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”Three people present for the meeting that day all confirmed that the President of the United States called the Constitution “a goddamned piece of paper.”And, to the Bush Administration, the Constitution of the United States is little more than toilet paper stained from all the shit that this group of power-mad despots have dumped on the freedoms that “goddamned piece of paper” used to guarantee.

when an old man loves a young wooman ...

He cant keep his mind on nutting else

He will talaq his wife of 25 years 3X
widout a second tot for his children too

if she is bad
he cant see it
he is the last one to no

Yes, when an old man loves a young wooman

"In the spring, a young man's fancy
Lightly turns to thoughts of what

The older man throughout the year
Has never even once forgot."

- Robert Burned

Eyes are for use. When you look at a woman with a brief, stolen glance, you are insulting her beauty. He says: "Don't peep at girls, STARE!"

A Dirty Old Man is far more attractive to women than young men, because of his sophistication and experience, his wisdom and his honesty.

From The Sensuous Dirty Old Man:
===Let us imagine that you are a dirty old man but are dedicated to keeping it a secret because you are a bank vice-president and are interested in exuding an odor of sanctity so that no one will notice, until it is too late, that you are preparing to abscond [run away].

Now a lovely girl walks past you with a dress whose neckline is generously loose and under which there is clearly and obviously no bra. What do you do?

What you do is roll your eyes briefly in their sockets with the eyelashes lowered so that no one will see what you are doing.

The result? You don't see anything at all, except perhaps for one flash of quiver that is far more upsetting than sating.

And what is the girl's reaction? She sees that flicker of eye even if no one else does (since she's watching for it) and despises you as a rotten little coward. You see that look of contempt in her eye (for it goes through you like an ice pick) and your self-esteem is shattered.

Indeed, there is a very good chance that the girl will instantly realize that a man who would look at her with so miserably sidelong a glance is a man who would abscond with every cent of the banks property and she will inform on you at once.

But suppose you are not only a dirty old man, but are proud of it, too, and suppose the same girl walks by in the same condition. Now it is possible to be joyous and open. You can emit a melodious whistle or a snort of pleasure.

You can stare openly. You can walk over to get a closer view. You can address the girl in friendly fashion.

And how does the girl react? She is pleased that she has created such an obvious stir in a gentleman of such substantial and prosperous appearance. She realizes that you agree with her own opinion of herself and this can't help but impress her with the excellence of your taste.

Seeing in you a person whom she can respect, she will think, "What a nice, gentlemanly old man," and will smile at you. From that to a friendly word or two is but a step, and from that to a pat on the cheek or some slight pressure on the upper arm is but another.

You own self-esteem will shoot up and if you are the vice-president of a bank, you will be so buoyed up by all the this that you will go right to your office and put back all the money. This is only one example of many I can cite in which being an open and honest dirty old man is an enormous aid to public morality.

Oliver Wendell Holmes, the great Supreme Court Justice, in his last years (he lived to be ninety-four), was walking down Pennsylvania Avenue with a friend, when a pretty girl passed. As all dirty old men must, especially when the dignity of the Supreme Court is at stake, Holmes turned to look after her. Having done so, he sighed and said to his friend, "Ah, George, what wouldn't I give to be seventy-five again?"===

Isaac Asimov tells us that after the eyes, the verbal skills of a Dirty Old Man is his most important tools, so he better can give compliments to the girl to let her know how beautiful she is.

So you see, fellows, we are not alone, and have never been.

The wisest men up through history

have always been Dirty Old Men as well.

Australia or Iraq - Who is in Need of Liberation?

By Yamin Zakaria
Al-Jazeerah, May 2, 2004

Why was Australia so eager to participate in the recent Iraq war? Geographically isolated from Iraq with virtually no history of being involved in any major direct conflict with the Arabs/Muslims. Economically, Australia is far more prosperous than the likes of Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, El Salvador and Honduras.

Furthermore, she has never faced a serious shortage of oil supply.
Is it possible that the Australian leadership was really convinced by the message of George Bush that he was invading Iraq in order to make the world a safer place? Bearing in mind, Australia’s earlier participation in the war in Afghanistan resulted in the unprecedented attack in Bali, largely targeting Australian tourists. Similarly, the Madrid bombings was in retaliation to Spain partaking in the Iraq war. Very few in the western dominated mass media have pointed out that other peaceful, democratic and western nations like Switzerland, New Zealand, Austria etc. has never been targeted by the radical Islamic groups.

In addition, with the unfolding of events in Iraq, most of the pre-war claims used by the US and UK to justify the invasion has turned out to be based on fabricated evidences. Therefore, without reflecting on who has been the real victim or the aggressor, the Australian government continues to participate in the US led war and support its propaganda.

Perhaps, the ties of common language and culture with a common Anglo-Saxon heritage have propelled Australia to join the war. Australia has a track record for aiding Britain and the US in many of the previous wars. Not surprisingly many of the commentators have labelled the recent war on Iraq as an Anglo-Arab war. Australia may also have been tempted with the potential lucrative booty in Iraq, and enhancing its image in the international arena.

Some have also quietly pointed to its criminal past, as many of their forefathers were convicts, shipped from England. Subsequently, these white Australians have built a savage history by annihilating the indigenous Aboriginal population. All of this has contributed towards developing an innate desire to murder defenceless people and hence their enthusiasm for war. Such a view is a gross generalisation and may be bordering on racism and personally I do not subscribe to.

However, equally one cannot also totally ignore Australia’s violent past as Noam Chomsky stated that a legacy of imperial violence does leave a certain mark on a nation. Consequently, they become desensitised to inflicting gratuitous violence, especially upon the non Anglo-Saxon nations.

This trend can also be observed in the extreme level of violence inflicted by the ‘settlers’ (a euphemism for occupiers) in South Africa, America and Israel, which easily dwarfs the retaliatory violence of the so-called ‘terrorists’, which is relatively a recent phenomenon.

The annexation of eastern Australia along with the Torres Strait Islands in 1770 by captain James Cook on behalf of King George of England marked the beginning of the end for the peaceful indigenous population. As captain James Cook states in his diaries about the hostilities from the onset:
"All they seem'd to want for us was to be gone".

The land was used as a penal colony, like the French had Devil's Island in French Guiana and the Russians had Siberia for its criminals and other undesirable elements.

What then followed over the next hundred and fifty years is a wave of atrocities, torture and rape to the extent that 90% of their original population was erased.

Techniques included the poisoning of water and food. It is comparable to the American planes bombing the food storage in Afghanistan and the civilian infrastructures in Iraq, which included water and sewage systems causing immense suffering. Technology develops but not the nature of nations driven primarily by greed and profit!

The European ‘settlers’ also deployed similar tactics against the Native Americans. The ‘benevolent’ missionaries helped to wipe out entire races of people by offering blankets infected with chicken pox for which the Native Americans had no defence.

So, next time a missionary knocks on your door about the ‘love’ of Christ remember how they really offered their ‘love’ in history.

Further loss of Aboriginal lives were contributed by the loss of lands which led to the loss of their livelihood, and the introduction of disease like chickenpox, smallpox, influenza, venereal diseases, from Europe for which they had no protection. The wave of massacres eventually halted after the demise of most of their population, and confiscation of all their lands. The last known major massacre was in Coniston (Northern Australia) in 1928.

The years between 1900 until 1970 were marked by the forceful removal of children from the Aboriginal parents by the Australian government with the help of the Church. This practice was particularly targeting the children of mixed descent, after all if the white Australian men were not going to shoulder their responsibility after their fun, the government had to intervene! In fact, in many cases the Aboriginal children were abducted and kept as a pet. This had left a traumatic mark on those Aboriginal children with the agony of loosing their parents. So the term “Stolen Generation” was coined.

After much efforts and campaign to get justice for such barbaric practices, an inquiry was commenced in 1995. The final report came out in 1997, which proved overwhelmingly of this awful nasty crime. Not surprisingly the conservative government led by John Howard refused to accept it under the pretext that it would trigger legal actions. The motto is justice can never replace money and profit! It is a pity that the Aboriginal population had no Jewish connection as they have developed an art in extracting compensation from Europe.

The Aboriginal population were eventually given the right to vote in federal elections in 1962, and only in 1967 did they gain full citizenship in their own lands, counted on the censors as human beings! Not bad considering that the indigenous black population of South Africa were still suffering under the apartheid system. Such practices were also functioning to a certain degree in America.

So that brings us to the present day. Recently a young Aboriginal boy was killed by the police, which sparked a riot. People then began to put up posters with photos of police. They read as follows - "Wanted - Child Murderers. There is gang of child killers operating in the Redfern area …… They are serial killers and will reoffend."

Such posters would have been equally if not more suitable in Fallujah, Jenin, Gaza, and Baghdad.

How interesting that one of the activist responded subsequently by saying “I mean, the idea of supporting these young people is I do support their right to resist. I support the Palestinian kids' right to resist”. So the Aboriginal struggle was immediately identified with the struggle of the children in Palestine. Note, the words ‘right to resist’ but with the elapse of time the Aboriginal population like the Palestinians will become the aggressor or the problem, whilst the ‘settler’ population becomes the innocent victim and the unquestionable owner of the lands.

It would have been wonderful to observe the Indonesian and Malaysian army invading Australia in a genuine war of liberation, helping to liberate the oppressed Aboriginal population. In the same way many dream about an army engaged in the true liberation of the oppressed Irish, Afro-Americans, Hispanics, and Native Americans etc.

The oppression endured by Aboriginal population no one can deny. Their suffering dwarfs that of the ‘poor’ Kuwaitis under Saddam’s rule for a period of few months, or even the sufferings of the Kurds and Shi'is. The world will not witness the ‘democratic’ and ‘human rights’ crusaders unleashing their forces to liberate the Aboriginal population, because just like Rwanda they have no oil and their oppressors are part of the Anglo-Saxon club.

To the contrary, George Bush thinks that Australia has the right to be a beacon of justice and hence described her as the US sheriff in Asia-Pacific region. So what was his criterion? It can’t be Australia’s population, which is only about 20 million against the rest of the Asia pacific region of 300 million plus. Hence, the democratic criterion of one-man one vote is rather inconvenient like the UN Security Council. Such proposition can only be attributed to it ties of language, race and Australia’s consistent commitment to defend US aggression without reservation.

All is not bleak. Australia did take a moral stance in opposing Britain, in order to isolate South Africa for its apartheid system. Of course, the British Prime Minister at the time Margaret Thatcher pointed out that Australia has virtually no trade with South Africa. Australia is part of the South Pacific region, and it needs to modify its behaviour to fit in with the rest of the peaceful population in the region as equals. On the contrary, its conduct to date has been like the modern day convicts operating like a mafia by constantly aiding the godfather; the US government.
